Biography
Annaleigh Swanson was born in Denver, Colorado to mother Holli Swanson.
Since her mom was a gym teacher, Annaleigh was enrolled into various gym activites - activites that she didnt enjoy. When Annaleigh was 7 years old she told her mom it was time. Holli knew what Annaleigh ment.
At only 7 years old she had already mastered the four songs on her Liza Minnelli karaoke tape ('City Lights,' 'Cabaret,' 'Maybe This Time' and 'New York, New York,')
From there she went on to study at Denver's Kit Andre Performing Arts Center. Annaleigh loved to perform and went on to performing in her hometown untill she graduated high school
She wanted to get on with school fast, so she graduated high school in only three years. From there she went to Marymount Manhattan College, where she managed to earn a theater degree in three years.
In 2005 Annaleigh performed as Natalie in the New York Music Festival along side Anthony Rapp, from Rent
Annaleigh shortly after booked the role of Glinda in the touring version of the hit Broadway show Wicked.
She travelled with the show for 10 months
In 2006 she booked and originated the role of Margot in the Broadway musical Legally Blonde.
Legally Blonde was Annaleighs first Broadway show and she left the show in September 2007 to take over the role of
Glinda in Wicked. This time, at the Gerswin Theater in New York!
Annaleigh is currently doing her run as Glinda in New York until May 11 2008. On June 3rd this year she will be moving to Chicago to continue with her role as Glinda.
