Reviews - Last show on Broadway by Chrissy and Jennifer
Overall, it was a fantastic show. Everyone was on fire. And it was a sad show since it was Annaleigh’s last with the Broadway company. Steph, especially, was really emotional. The energy from the audience was incredible from the moment it started. Even before the show, once the music began, everyone was going crazy, you couldn’t even hear the announcement. Each song ended with thunderous applause and screaming. It was so much fun to see that response and join in their enthusiasm, and you could tell Annaleigh and the cast fed off of that energy.

ACT 1:

No One Mourns the Wicked
We cheered for Annaleigh as she came down in her bubble, looking and sounding beautiful than ever. I almost started crying right then, idk if out of excitement for the show starting or sadness for it being my last time seeing Annaleigh. Oh, and I could tell Annaleigh was going to be EXTRA hyper from this point on – she just seemed to have an extra burst of energy and kept waving her wand more than I’ve ever seen. I was like, OH BOY… lol.

Dear Old Shizzzzz
Annaleigh was facing us a lot, so we got to see all her funny facial expressions and ad-libs. She does this crazy leg-kick when she raises her hand, but she didn’t do her non-stop leg kicks throughout the entire act, like she did last time, lol. Oh and she hugged those two girls who play her best friends (probably because it was for her last), which was cute.

The Wizard and I
I’m so glad Steph is back (after spraining her ankle). She definitely made the show even more special for Annaleigh. It was nice to see them perform together one last time. =) Steph was AMAZING here as always. I can’t explain how awesome it is to see her live and hear that flawless voice. She kept on looking at me (or in our direction – I don’t think they can see us from the stage unless we’re like in the first couple of rows) – and I was just staring back in awe, grinning from ear to ear.

What is this Feeling
Annaleigh’s first line was great and different from last time. Steph making fun of Annaleigh’s leg kick was hysterical. The two of them looked like they were having so much fun. And towards the end, Steph started cracking up at something Annaleigh did. And at the end after the “boo!”, Annaleigh mouths “That’s not funny!” or something along those lines as she always does, haha.

Classroom scene / Something Bad
Again, I love watching Annaleigh’s facial expressions and her talking to her classmates. And before the song with Dr. Dillamond, I love how Steph says her lines with her mouth full from eating her “lunch,” haha.

Dancing Through Life
When Annaleigh approached David, he imitated her tossing her hair and she laughed (for real, lol – she was a lil’ surprised but amused by it) and playfully hit him a few times. [At the stagedoor, David said that he made sure to give an extra big hair toss for Annaleigh’s last, haha aw]. She did a few other funny/weird things during the song too. It's so funny to watch her. She was very flirty and playful. My favorite part, besides when she hits David's shoulder, was when she started walking towards him slowly with her hand out as he was singing... I was wondering wtf she was doing, then she touched him, and looked at her hand, and smiled all big and was like WOW (she didn't say that, she just looked SO happy that she just touched the sexiest man ever lol). David’s voice was so ON today and just gorgeous. At the Ozdust, we couldn’t see Annaleigh and David talking to each other like last time ‘cause they’re on the opposite/left side – she popped his collar again though and they were rubbing their noses together – hehe, aww. Oh yea, when Annaleigh went to dance with Steph, she did this weird (and hilarious) little dance, LOL. Can’t explain it. The girl is just… strange. I love when they’re dancing together.

Popular
OH BOY! The audience was in stitches the entire scene. Like I said before, I knew she would be EXTRA crazy this time, and she was. She did these funny, high jumps and leg-kicks and bends. She’s just so random. And flexible! Haha. Steph was laughing so much and just having a blast watching her. She started shaking her head like Annaleigh was doing. I can’t describe how funny that was. I was looking at Annaleigh doing it and was like What is this girl doing? LMAO. and then I looked at Steph copying her and just about died. Then after “…very, very popular like me!” Annaleigh did a few more extra leg jumps and then hopped on the bed next to Steph and pointed out her leg and just stayed in that position for a minute and then… Steph did it too! BEST. THING. EVER. It was just priceless. That was like the highlight of the scene, and maybe even the whole show. Then was the “toss-toss.” Annaleigh: “Toss toss ohh no ohhh noo” and is walking backwards and making the silliest face ever. Then Steph tries to imitate it. Annaleigh: “………..NO.” –LMAO! Another one of my favorite parts. Then Annaleigh did the toss toss again for a little longer and when she was done she said “OK” like she did last time – loves it. The rest of the scene was hilarious and then at the end she laid on her bed as the audience was screaming and cheering for her. =D

Lion Cub scene / I’m Not That Girl
Steph was great with the “toss-toss oh no” thing. Then she was like “toss toss…” :bumps into David: “…oh no!” LOL. And the song was beautiful. At one point, she looked at me again (/in our direction) and then smiled. =)

One Short Day
Annaleigh came in holding hands with Cristy, which was cute. She was great in this scene, especially when she was talking about changing her name. And then David said her new name “Glinda” and Annaleigh was like, “Fiyeroooo” in a funny way. I love watching this song. Annaleigh and Steph always look like they’re having so much fun and their pose was great – we had a perfect view of it unlike last time from the other side.

A Sentimental Man
Good. Not much different from last time. Oh, and Miriam flirting with the Wizard again… LOL. Me and Jen were waiting for the monkeys to fly over the audience, we forgot it happens during a different scene, haha… oops.

Defying Gravity
I thought they were going to cry here, especially Steph, but they made it through. Steph is incredible here as always. The price of my ticket is worth Annaleigh’s Popular and Steph’s Defying Gravity alone. With these two leading ladies, those are definitely the highlights of act 1 for me. Intermission. The audience went wild as the music started back up again.

ACT 2:

Thank Goodness
Annaleigh is beautiful. =) Some of her lines toward the end, she went slower on – you could tell she was really sad and had a tough time getting through them, but she finished out strong. I can’t believe how much she’s grown in the role and much more gorgeous she sounds here. The Wicked Witch of the East
Elphaba appearing in the mirror is cool – we couldn’t really see it as well form the other side. Great job by Cirsty and Ben here (and Steph too, obviously). And we saw the tin man as Steph was wheeling the chair around. The woman next to us gasped, lol. I love seeing people’s reactions, especially at this part. Wonderful
…was wonderful, lol. I’m Not That Girl (reprise)
Annaleigh was so good here and still looking beautiful. =) As Long as You’re Mine
David’s voice was so strong. They both sound so great together. Catfight / Cornfield Scene
Annaleigh’s so funny with her lines. They’re both fantastic here. There was a lot of ‘oooo’s from the audience, especially with the slaps. Annaleigh’s “yessado” is hysterical, I love it. That got a lot of laughs and so did the wand-twirling. David’s yell and “Let the green girl go!” always cracks everyone up.

No Good Deed
Absolutely amazing. Another one of my favorite scene to watch, especially when it’s Steph – she just wows me every time.

March of the Witchhunters
It was cool being closer to the tin man this time (but I’d rather be closer to Annaleigh, lol). That lion tail is so friggin long, haha.

Castle Scene
I love this scene. The Dorothy and “Dodo” lines got a lot of laughs. We saw Annaleigh at the top of the stairs waiting to come down. Then Steph and Annaleigh started to get really emotional. They were like breaking down. I almost didn’t expect them to get out some of their lines.

For Good
Saddest thing I’ve ever seen. Both were crying so much. After Annaleigh made it through her first verse, Steph wiped away a few tears and barely made it through hers. Watching that broke my heart. I started tearing up too. It was very touching – it wasn’t Elphaba and Glinda singing to each other, it was Steph and Annaleigh singing to each other. It was beautiful.

The Finale
Before the melting, Steph mouthed “I’m gonna miss you” to Annaleigh. When Annaleigh was holding the hat she was crying so much. Then she did one last funny thing – she said, “I hope you prove me wrong!” in a funny way and I love how Miriam always throws in a “How dare you!” David’s scarecrow walk = cutest, funniest thing ever. The woman next to us (who reacted to the tinman and everything else) was like, “Aw, it’s the scarecrow!” and then when Steph popped up and called him Fiyero, the woman gasped again, haha. Annaleigh was crying up there in her bubble, but made it through her final lines, and so did Steph. I cried a little when Steph “melted” and then when she came back, I got all choked up again.

Curtain Call
The audience started screaming/clapping/cheering immediately and we rose to our feet. Steph let Annaleigh take her bow alone, and after they hugged the brought out flowers and Steph made a very nice speech. She started crying during it. Which made me get all teary-eyed again too.
“Thank you so much. If I can just have a couple more moments of your time, and please bear with me because it’s gonna be hard to find the words. Today we say goodbye to an amazing performer and dear, dear friend to all of us. We’re not… The Wicked family is not saying goodbye, but the Broadway company is. Annaleigh is going off to lead the company in Chicago. They’re ending their run and she gets to send them off with a bang for their last three months. They’ve entrusted that in her capable hands. And she’s a little one… she’s like one of the youngest leading ladies on Broadway, and I can’t tell you what an amazing presence…how much she’s taught us with her professionalism…her endurance – you can’t believe she ever hardly misses a show, she’s a monster  honestly! She's a joy. :looks at Annaleigh: You are the most beautiful light I have ever met. And it’s constant. And it’s just positivity that touches every single person you’ve ever met and I wish there were more people in the world like you (Steph is choking up and in tears by now, as is Annaleigh). And I’m going to miss you and everyone’s gonna miss you so much!”:audience cheers/applause: Then Steph turns to the audience and is like, “So get up off your feet and…” :audience is so loud:

I was getting all choked up too. After, Annaleigh gave another big hug to Steph and then Steph had the audience stand up and cheer again for Annaleigh. Annaleigh lifted up her dress (was she trying to flash us? LOL) and was waving and blowing kisses. She’s so cute!
